French Gold “Lucky” Angel AU+. On the obverse of this brilliant 1877 gold coin from France, the guardian angel Genius inscribes the French Constitution upon a tablet next to a pillar and a rooster. British Gold Sovereign. The first was minted under Tudor King Henry VII in 1489 (no… not the Tudor king that Jonathan Rhys Meyers portrayed on Showtime’s hit show). This collectible gets its name from the first mintage which depicts the monarch seated majestically on the throne facing outward.
